Richard Johnson
Co-founder of Peak Performance, Richard Johnson has played at the highest level, representing England for both test matches and one day internationals. He broke records during his career, taking 2 wickets in his first over for England on debut as well taking all ten wickets for just 45 runs for Middlesex! His ability to bowl at pace with swing and bounce, as well as his hard hitting batting, made him a top performer with the ability to turn any game. He followed figures of 6-33 on test debut with another 5 wicket haul in his second test, winning the man of the match award in both games. He also scored the fastest first class hundred in 2004 off just 63 balls against Durham.
Jono will be fondly remembered by the Somerset fans for his outstanding performances in helping Somerset win the C & G trophy in 2001 and the 20/20 cup in 2005.
Richard took over 500 first class wickets in a career spanning 15 years. He has now taken the natural transition to coaching and is already on the ECB Level IV Elite Coaching Programme, the highest coaching award available in world cricket. He works for the ECB tutoring other coaches and elite players and has an outstanding reputation as a coach in a short space of time, passing his invaluable knowledge and experience onto players and coaches alike.
