Mike Burns

Mike Burn's knowledge from 15 years as a professional cricketer has proved invaluable to young players he has coached. Mike retired from 1st class cricket in 2005 having scored over 12,000 runs in all forms of cricket with a top score of 221 and best bowling figures of 6-54. His aggressive stroke play and useful medium pacers made him a firm favourite with the Somerset fans when he made the move from Warwickshire in 1997. He scored over 1000 runs in 2002 and 2003 and was made Somerset captain in 2003. Mike is also an ECB Level III coach and has worked with the ECB Somerset Academy.
